    Has anyone found a work around for this issue?

    Smart Links works great until I tick "Highlight Search" under Presentation / Features. When I do this the Smart Links don't work, [xxx->xxx] can be seen on the page and the link gets highlighted.

    It's not a life and death issue, but would be nice to fix. Any help would be much appreciated.

    I removed the Highlight Search feature from Semiologic v.4.2, because of this confict and other bugs in the Google Hilite plugin. That being said, I suggest that you try upgrading to v.4.2 RC, which contained a completely rewritten version of smart link -- a version that might work better with search highlight.
