    Any benefit to checking the following in [settings > misc]?

    Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders

    Or is this purely a personal preference?

    Do you use this or not? Why or why not?

    Just curious what others do.

    I use month and year, the only real reason is I use a date based permalink structure. Just keeps me organized a little better.
