    Can I use the All in One SEO plugin in SemPro 5.3RC? Should I disable Denis' plugin first? Also looking at SEO-Title-Tag plugin.

    Here's my problem:
    I need to be able to use better meta tags for title and description for my tag pages. Google Webmaster Tools is dinging me for having to many pages with the same meta description, which all come from my site's general tagline. Notwithstanding that, these tag pages are being indexed but are not very attractive for a searcher even if they do rank, since all you get is the plain tag for the title and the meta description from the site tagline.

    Hi,
    you don't really need the All in One SEO plugin - the whole point of semiologicpro is that it's packed with SEO features.

    if you need to change the title/description of a page or post you can use the SEO section of the editor - it's the one at the bottom.

    But then how do I change the meta data for tag pages? I can see how to do it for pages and posts, but my problem is with tags and category pages.

    In practice, you do not want your tag and archive pages to rank-you want the individual posts to get the ranking. Tag pages should focus PR to the posts. Basically, they should be not much more than a keyword rich link to the post.

    just a thought, but if you go to SEO under settings have you selected " Append the name of the site to the title of each web page."?
    if you have then this could potentially trigger an warning in webmaster tools. This is most likely to happen if you have a lot of single word tags which are all followed by the same title.
    Saying that - I'd agree with James - be more concerned as to why your tag/category pages are ranking - great that they are indexed but you really want the specific pages/post to be the ones getting traffic.
    IMHO :)
