    Hello everyone!

I believe many have been wondering where I've been lately.

In the past 18 months or so, I've been burning out.

It was initially mild. By the time it got bad (last summer), Mike had joined the team. Things were barely noticeable back then, except by forum regulars. Someone stole my laptop in December, which forced me to take a vacation. I expected things would be better upon returning. If the past two months are any indicator, I was hopelessly wrong.

So... for my mental health's sake, I'm going to officially take a few months off.

I don't feel uncomfortable doing so. Mike has been around for quite a while. The community is active to a point I dared not imagine when I set up the forum. And then, there are the VAs and those who are volunteering help.

I'll be going through the gory details this week. Thanks to everyone who have been helping out in this forum!

    D.

    Hi Denis.

Burn out is a nasty thing.
I was past that point for many years, still operating on full throttle, pretending all was fine.
Then, the body and mind decided for me.
    Naturally, abruptly and mercilessly.
It took a few hard years to recover.

Do it now - and take care of yourself.
That's a smart thing to do.

Thank you for letting us know.
Wish you the best on your "rebalancing" way.
If and when you decide to come back, we'll be waiting for you :)!

Take good care and thank you again...Lu

Glad you're alive and not in jail (I had a dream. . .) I recall you caught some kind of exotic bug or something (in Mexico); perhaps you still have it. Feel better soon. We'll be looking forward to your return.

    Hi Denis,

I understand where you are coming from... please have a FULL and healthy recovery!!! I think we'll be fine for the short term since you have some pretty talented people in your support group and some sharp regulars here on the forums.

Find a beach or hike to the mountains and forget about the daily grind for a while :)

Denis - Being self-employed and also doing contract work, I can completely relate. I woke up this morning and stared blankly at my computer for a few minutes before I realized that it is time for a break. Although, in my case it will just be for three days!

Have some fun, relax and come back to your life in way that makes you "jazzed" and full of energy.

Thanks for everything that you do. - Ryan

Think of the rolling motion of the waves in a warm location Denis . Your health and happiness are worth much more . Remember the web won't go away when you are gone. It will just be a happier place when you are back.

    All the best

    Hi there Denis,

I am sooo glad to have come into the forum today and see you're back ... "ish." This is the main reason I've been in the forum lately ... just wanted to know you were okay.

You know how much I appreciate you Denis for all the personal help you gave me in the early days and, I attribute a big part of my success to that input!

Thanks for everything and really enjoy your time out. You've more than earned it.

    Best wishes,

    Trish

    Hey Denis,

I am quite glad to see you are OK, I was getting concerned about your well being. Sounds like you are taking steps to be better, I am happy to see that. Of course this is the best for you, ultimately this is the best for Semiologic.

I will do the best I can to continue supporting those I can around here and eagerly await your return to full speed; personally with your health and professionally at Semiologic. I can't wait to see the direction Semiologic takes and hope I can continue working in some small measure towards that end.

I get down to Mexico a couple times a year and always hit Arturo's in Nuevo Progreso, you ever make it that far north? Perhaps we can meet there for lunch if you ever get that far, though I suspect it is quite a drive from where you are.

    Take care,

    Jeff

    Hi Denis,

You are so kind person that it really hearts to hear that you are burned out.

Semiologic is your child but the best thing to do is to totally forget about it
and do something else during your absense.

Go out and dance, chase girls( if not married), drink, climb the mountains, sail...whatever...
give yourself all those things that you have sacrificed for semiologic's sake for so many years.

Be a child again, let other people take care of heavy things and don't think about us - customers -
we like you anyway because you have given us so much for so little so it's unbelievable.

If you have means, outsource everything and just be the owner.

    Enjoy Life!
